We recognize that a major concern as online customers is the inability to touch and feel the quality of the rugs, and also to fully appreciate the shades of the colours employed in the designs. Q. How can I know the thickness and density of the rugs?

We provide full specification details of all of our different rug qualities on our website information page. This will help you to understand the importance of the combination of the rug thickness, tuft points and weight per square metre, to indicate the surface density of the yarn. All of our ranges – Palace, Royal Wilton, Regency, Exellan, Horizon and Regency have been deliberately selected because they most definitely fall into the high density category.

Q. Why is rug density important?

High density in a rug is important because it guarantees that the definition of the rug's design detail will be maintained for many years to come. It means that it will look better for much longer than a loosely woven product. It is also easier to look after and to maintain a high density woven rug because it is much harder for normal household grit and dust to penetrate such a surface. The very high minimum density standards that we have created will give all of our customers complete confidence in our rug collection.

Q. I am not sure about the rug colours?

We understand that customers may be hesitant to buy online because of the uncertainty of design colours. We believe that we have helped to overcome this uncertainty for our customers by sending email images of the design(s) selected. The email image will allow customers to open the rug to full screen to give a far larger and more detailed appreciation of both design and colour. Many of our customers have said that this has been most helpful and has removed their doubts and fears regarding their rug choice.

Q. What happens if I am still unhappy with the rug colour?

Don’t worry. If you are still unhappy with your rug choice then of course we will accept the return of the rug. You must advise us of your decision within the first 7 days of receipt, and we will ask you to rewrap the rug carefully to await our transport collection. As soon as the rug has been received and inspected at our warehouse we will issue a full rug refund, but we do charge you for the return transport involved. All rugs under 200cm width are charged at £29, and all rugs 200cm and over are charged at £49 for return.

Q. How do I look after my new rug?

All of our rugs are Wilton woven products and will exhibit the same following characteristics as Wilton carpet products:

Q. I am concerned about reports of child labour involved in the production of rugs?

We share your concerns; all of the rugs supplied by Majestic Rugs are machine made in a sophisticated and modern production plant in Belgium, and under no circumstances are children involved at any stage of the rug manufacturing process.

Q. Is my credit/debit transaction secure?

Yes - we use Protx for all payment transactions. Protx provides a secure, encrypted gateway between the vendor and the bank. It enables people to purchase products online with the knowledge that their credit card details will be secure.

Q. Are my credit card details completely confidential? How can I trust the system?

Yes - all transactions are dealt with by Protx, which uses high levels of encryption. Protx has been audited and approved by APACS, Visa and MasterCard. Their secure servers are hosted at Globix as they provide high levels of physical security and uptime.

Q. How long will my rug take to be delivered?

You will receive your rug within approximately 10/14 days. Majestic Rugs deliver all rugs directly from a Belgian rug factory, which eliminates the heavy cost of stocking rugs, and therefore allows us to offer our rugs at extremely competitive prices.

Q. Do you supply rug underlays to prevent slipping/or rug movement?

Unfortunately not. The cost of delivery would exceed the normal retail value of this important product. We do however most strongly encourage and recommend that rug underlays are locally purchased to avoid any possibility of accidents in the home. Rug underlays are usually available from most good quality carpet or hardware stores.

Q. I do not understand metric sizes.

All of our rugs show both metric and imperial sizes.

Q. Tell me more about Exellan yarn.

Exellan yarn is produced in 100% polypropylene which offers considerable benefits because it is:

  • stain resistant
  • water repellant
  • antistatic
  • mothproof
  • colourfast
  • hardwearing and resiliant
  • 1,000,000 tuft point density per square metre
